Hunting for Treasure: A Tour Through The River City Trading Post

While walking down Jenks Main Street, you can find the River City Trading Post. The trading post looks simple from the outside, but when you step through the door you are transported into a maze full of everything you could possibly imagine. The first thing you see is a hallway of brightly colored ornaments hanging from the ceiling. Christmas music plays from the speakers immediately putting you in the mood for the holidays, which is a great thing because the River City Trading Post is an excellent place to find unique and handmade gifts at a range of prices.

This article will rate 8 of my favorite booths for gift shopping. Whether you’re shopping for a kid or your grandma, the Trading Post has something for everyone and I’m here to make it easier for you.

Most Creative:

Everything in this booth is hand painted, and at reasonable prices, making it a great place for presents or even just a gift for yourself. The hand-painted hummingbird feeders are unique and brightly colored, they would make an excellent addition to your garden. There also are dog ornaments that you can personalize with your dog's name, and hand painted hair clips.

Best Ugly Christmas Sweaters:

This is an excellent place to get a unique sweater for a Christmas party. There are all sorts of styles with cute reindeer or a Christmas tree covered in bells perfect for annoying everyone every time you try to walk. There are also fun wreaths and dishes in this booth.

Best Booth for Toys:

This is a great place to shop for a kid. It has a great collection of beanie babies, Shopkins, superhero action figures, and hot wheels. The booth is well organized and it is easy to find what you are looking for.

Most Unique:

This is a great place to shop if you want a funny gift. The creatures are made out of clay and are reasonably priced for a handmade clay creator. This would be a surprising and slightly scary gift that I'm sure someone would love.

Best for Jewelry:

This booth is a great place for jewelry, the different styles making it a great place to shop for everyone. This booth does not only have jewelry, it also has claw clips, hats and posters.

Best for a Music Lover:

This booth has all kinds of albums and is a great place to shop if you love music. Although, you will have to have a record player, so maybe stick with Spotify, but if you already have a record player or know someone with a record player this is an excellent place to shop.

Most colorful:

This booth is full of brightly colored clothes and posters. The clothes are well organized and it's easy to find things. There are also some unique earrings like candy canes and lightning bolts. This booth has an indie style that looks like a mini colorful thrift store in a booth.

Most Artsy:

This booth has an arrangement of vibrant colors, all with unique names, like mermaid tail teal, and queen bee yellow. The paint comes in different sizes with large cans and smaller cans and also a few neon options in a bottle. The side walls of the booth are covered in different stencils and there is also a small wall with clothes on the back wall.

Exploring the River City Trading Post feels like stepping into a maze full of hidden treasures, from the colorful hand-painted ornaments to clay aliens, each booth is its own world with plenty of gifting possibilities. This place offers something for everyone whether you're looking for clothes or if you're a hot-wheels collector.
